Thought for Today ""Be so confident in God's plans and promises that when something doesn't go your way, you can easily say, 'that's God redirecting me to something better.'" When we are confident in our Lord's plans for us, setbacks don't affect our faith. We can more easily absorb life's disappointments and move on; sure of God's guidance and direction in our lives.
Being the Church The church is not a building, but a body of believers with a specific nature and purpose.

Bible Studies We have, in conjunction with our Dellroy church family, been discussing various concepts in a relation to the Bible - everything from forgiveness, to Angels, to the Holy Spirit. Bible Study resumes on November 10th. We'll meet at 6:00 to discuss God's Word, and enjoy good fellowship. Bring a treat or snack to share.
Community We work in our Community to get God's Word Out to Everyone. We participate in community events throughout the Year.
Praise & Worship
We are the Church! While we take worship seriously, we also take time to connect with one another. Pictured is our Rural Life Sunday picnic after our service at Atwood Lake Park.
Missions

Group Fellowship
Otterbein Faith Fellowship, Senior Lunches, Prayer Groups, United Women in Faith, Bible Studies. All are ways to care for each other and grow in our commitments to God.
Faith
Hebrews 11:1 Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen. Psalm 46:10 Be still, and know that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth! John 8:24 unless you believe that I am who I claim to be, you will die in your sins.
Hope
Romans 15:13 May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope. Jeremiah 29: 11 11 For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.
Love
1 Corinthians 13:4-5: Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 1 Corinthians 13: 13 So now faith, hope, and love abide, these three; but the greatest of these is love.

Bishop Hee-Soo Jung Visit
The Bishop for the Ohio Episcopal Area of the United Methodist Church, Bishop Hee-Soo Jung paid a visit to Otterbein in February 2025 as part of his goal of visiting all 1,000 churches under his authority. He was eager to get to know a little about us and to pray with us for what we feel we need going forward.
We felt very honored and blessed by his presence, as this is the first time that any of us remember getting a visit from our Bishop.
